Hello,
I've come across 2 different positions for Parade Rest.
a. Muzzle in center of body , right hand on upper band with left hand on top.
b. Muzzle in right arm with hands folded in front (U.S. Regs)

Both positions have right leg 6 inches behind with slight bend in left knee.

Which is most commonly used?

My initial thoughts are that the 1861 regs were dealing with Musket and the other version deals with rifles. Kind of like Early war vs. Mid-war perhaps?

A little insight would be much appreciated.
